Synopsis
Nine survives as a pickpocket and wants a future beyond the Nest of a Thousand Treasures. A small ornament stolen from a woman's purse gives her an unexpected opening. It resembles a house, but knocking on its miniature door transforms it into a building large enough to enter. Inside are residents as unusual as their home, including the wizard Flabberghast and a troll housekeeper devoted to his feather duster. A spell has left them trapped, and they need Nine's help to break it. If she succeeds, the reward could be more than another stolen treasure: these strangers may offer her the different life she has been looking for.
